Free do it yourself programming instructions for 1997, 1998, 1999 and some* 2000 Chevrolet Malibu keyless entry remote fob

This is how to program your 1997, 1998, 1999, or *2000 Chevy Malibu remote yourself at home!

Switch ignition OFF.
Access the programming connector (located behind panel in LH trunk) Fig. 1 .
Jump programming connector terminals Fig. 1 .
System should now lock and unlock doors, trunk and chirp horn to indicate programming mode activated.
Proceed as follows:
Press and hold LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on remote transmitter.
After approximately 12 seconds system should lock and unlock doors, trunk and chirp horn indicating remote transmitter
programmed.
Repeat above procedure for other remote transmitters.
Remove programming connector jumper wire to exit programming mode.
NOTE: Existing remote transmitter memory positions will be overwritten.
Obtain and reprogram all remote transmitters.
NOTE: A maximum of 4 remote transmitters can be programmed.

***Some 2000 Chevy Malibu remotes may not program with this method. If you try and continue to have problems getting the remote to program or the car to respond to programming mode, you may need to have a dealer or locksmith program it with diagnostic equipment.

2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014 Cadillac SRX remote keyless entry fob FREE programming instructions

You can program your (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 or 2014) SRX remote at home by yourself with these simple instructions

IF… You have one programmed remote and you want to add another.

1. Vehicle must be off.
2. Place the working remote(s) in the cupholder. Have the new remote with you.
3. Insert the key into the key lock cylinder located on the outside of drivers door.
4.Turn the key to the unlock position five times with in ten seconds.
5. The (DIC) Driver Information Center displays Ready to Learn Electronic key #2, 3, 4 ETC.
6. Place the new remote into the transmitter pocket with the buttons facing the front
of the vehicle. (The transmitter pocket is inside the center console between the
driver and front passanger seats). The storage area will need to be opened and the
storage tray lifted up to access the transmitter pocket.
7. Press the ignition. When the remote is learned the DIC display will show that it is
ready to program the next remote.
8. Remove the remote from the transmitter pocket and press unlock on the remote.
9. To program additional remotes, repeat Steps 6 through 8.
10. When all additional transmitters are programmed, press and hold the ignition for
ten seconds to exit programming mode.

IF… You have no working remotes.

1. The vehicle must be off.
2. Insert the key into the key lock cylinder located on the outside of drivers door.
3.Turn the key to the unlock position five times with in ten seconds.

4. The (DIC) Driver Information Center displays REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.
5. Wait for ten minutes until the DIC displays PRESS ENGINE START BUTTON TO LEARN
and then press the ignition.
The DIC displays will again show REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT.
6. Repeat Step 5 two additional times. After the third time all previously known remotes will
no longer work with the vehicle. Remaining remotes can be relearned during the next steps.
The DIC display should now show READY FOR REMOTE #1
7. Place the new remote into the transmitter pocket with the buttons facing the front
of the vehicle. (The transmitter pocket is inside the center console between the
driver and front passanger seats). The storage area will need to be opened and the
storage tray lifted up to access the transmitter pocket.
8. Press the ignition. When the remote is learned the DIC display will show that it is
ready to program the next remote.
9. Remove the remote from the transmitter pocket and press unlock on the remote.
10. To program additional remotes, repeat Steps 7 through 9.
11. When all additional transmitters are programmed, press and hold the ignition for
ten seconds to exit programming mode.

2007 and 2008 Cadillac SRX remote fob programming instructions

You can program your 2007 or 2008 Cadillac SRX remote fob at home yourself with these simple instructions:
1. Switch ignition ON
2. Continually press the vehicle information button until PRESS TO RELEARN REMOTE KEY is displayed.
3. Press set/reset button until REMOTE KEY LEARNING ACTIVE is displayed
4. Press and hold LOCK and UNLOCK on the remote transmitter simultaneously for 15 seconds or until acoustic signal is emitted (indicating remote is programmed).
5. Repeat step 5 for any other remotes you have.
6. Switch ignition OFF to exit programming mode.

FREE 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010 Cadillac Escalade remote programming do it yourself instructions

Switch ignition ON.
Repeatedly press vehicle information button Fig. 2 [A] until PRESS TO RELEARN REMOTE KEY is displayed.
Press set/reset button Fig. 2 [B] until REMOTE KEY LEARNING ACTIVE is displayed.
Programming mode activated, proceed as follows:
Press and hold LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on first remote transmitter simultaneously for 15 seconds.
Wait for acoustic signal (indicates correct programming).
Repeat above procedure to program remaining remote transmitters.
Switch ignition OFF to exit programming mode.
Remote transmitters can also be programmed using diagnostic equipment.

2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006 Cadillac Escalade fob FREE Programming instructions

IMPORTANT: Before entering programming mode, have in possession all of the transmitters you will be using on the vehicle. Once you program the transmitter, all previous codes will be erased from the memory. The other transmitters will not be functional until you program the transmitters again.

1. Close all vehicle doors.

2. Insert the key into the ignition.

3. Hold down the power UNLOCK button on the driver’s door panel-continue to hold down until instructed to release.

4. Perform steps 5 through 8 in fairly rapid succession.

5. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (as far as you can go without starting the engine).
6. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
7. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
8. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

9. Release the power unlock button on the door panel. The vehicle will lock and unlock the doors automatically.

10. Hold down the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the transmitter simultaneously until the door locks and unlocks. This step may take up to 30 seconds.

11. Repeat the previous step (JUST THE LAST STEP) for each additional transmitter (including any existing transmitters).

12. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position in order to exit the transmitter programming mode.

Programming Notes:

Obtain all remote transmitters for this vehicle. This procedure will erase all previously programmed remotes. You must program all existing and new remotes that you wish to use on the vehicle at this time.

Keyless Entry System Memory Clearing Instructions are noted in the dark blue colored steps below.

Step-by-Step How To Programming Instructions:

Be sure ignition is OFF.
Remove RADIO fuse from fuse box. The RADIO fuse will be Number 17 and located at left-hand (LH) driver’s side of the instrument panel.
Turn ignition from OFF to RUN 3 times within 5 seconds ending in the RUN position. OFF is the position where you can remove your key and RUN is the position just shy of starting your vehicle (do not crank engine or start vehicle during programming).
Doors will Lock and Unlock indicating successful entry into programming mode.
Hold Lock and Unlock at the same time on first remote for approximately 15 seconds. Vehicle will respond by locking and unlocking doors indicating successful programming.
Repeat Step 5 for each additional remote to be programmed.
Switch ignition OFF. Replace RADIO fuse.
Test all remotes. Programming is now complete.

1. Locate the Data Line Connector (DLC) underneath the driver’s side dashboard. Use the figure below as a map for your DLC (they usually aren’t numbered). The view in the picture below is looking straight into the cavities of the DLC. Notice how the DLC is tapered on both ends; we will be working on the wider row of cavities (1 through 8 in the figure below).

2. Make sure there are metal contact pins in terminals 8 and 4 and connect the Data Line Connector (DLC) terminal 8 to terminal 4 with a suitable jumper wire (you can use a piece of thin electrical cable, speaker cable or simply U shaped paper clip; leave the jumper wire connected throughout the programming procedure). Make sure you know which terminals are 8 and 4. The vehicle will respond by cycling the locks (locking then unlocking doors) to signify entering of programming mode.

3. Press and hold both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons together on the first transmitter to be programmed. After about 15 seconds, the vehicle will respond by cycling the locks (locking then unlocking doors). Release the buttons on the transmitter.
4. Within one minute, repeat the previous step on the remaining transmitters to be programmed.
5. Remove jumper wire applied to the DLC (disconnect terminals 8 and 4).

Cadillac DTS programming instructions

This is how to program the 2006 and 2007 Cadillac DTS remote fob key yourself at home:

1. Switch ignition ON
2. Repeatedly press vehicle information button until “PRESS TO RELEARN REMOTE KEY” is displayed
3. Press set/reset button until “REMOTE KEY LEARNING ACTIVE” is displayed
**Programming mode is now activated… proceed as follows:
4. Press and hold lock and unlock on the first remote transmitter simultaneously for about 15 seconds
Wait until acoustic signal is emitted, indicating remote is programmed
5. Repeat step 4 for any additional remotes you have that need programming or to retain programming.
6. Switch ignition off
** You can have up to 8 remotes on one car!
