How to program your 1993 and 1994 Mercury Mountaineer remote keyless entry fob alarm by yourself at home without going to the dealer.
Obtain all remote transmitters
Access program connector taped to the wiring harness located in trunk (LH)
Switch ignition ON
Momentarily jump program connector terminals
(NOTE: The program connector is located in the trunk, behind the rear left hand access panel, taped to the wiring harness between the left tail light and he rear left wheel well.)
Door should lock then unlock
Remove jump wire program connector
Press any button on the first remote transmitter
Doors should lock then unlock
Press any button on the second remote transmitter
Doors should lock then unlock
Press any button on the third remote transmitter
Doors should lock then unlock
Press any button on the fourth remote transmitter
Doors should lock then unlock
Note: if door locks do not operate: press button again up to a maximum of 3 times
Switch ignition OFF:
Doors should lock then unlock
Note: a maximum of 4 remote transmitters can be programmed
